Sandy High School receives newest drone for Engineering Program

Posted Date: 6/13/25 (11:45 PM)

GenPac delivered a Dock 2 and Matrice 3TD drone to Sandy High School on Thursday, June 12. The school's newest drone will allow students to train on thermal sensors, which can be used in solar panels inspections, and work towards taking advantage of emerging regulatory changes for BVLOS (beyond visual line of sight) operations.
In addition to the delivery, GenPac also brought their new G1 (humanoid) and Go2 (quadruped) demonstration units to show students the future of autonomous robotics.
GenPac is an outstanding supporter of Sandy High School's Engineering Career & Technical Education program. They previously donated a Go1 quadruped robot that students have explored to partner with visual AI for navigation and have also sponsored eight students who have earned certification under Part 107 rules and can now operate sUAS (drones) for commercial applications!
